Scottish Book Trust – What’s Your Story

Kiran’s Trust agrees with the belief of the Scottish Book Trust (SBT) that everyone should have the opportunity to improve their life chances through access to books and the development of fundamental reading and writing skills – unlocking creativity and improving mental health and well-being. Supporting all communities across Scotland, with particular focus on those who are vulnerable, under-represented and most in need.

Now in its fifth year, What’s Your Story is the national development programme for young writers and illustrators from across Scotland. The programme consists of three strands, StoryMag (an online magazine that showcases and champions young writers and illustrators aged 13-19), StoryCon (a creative writing and illustration conference free for young people aged 13-19) and StoryBoard (a writer development programme for 14-17 year-olds), all of which moved to digital delivery in March 2020 as a result of the pandemic. Due our funding SBT relaunched the online StoryMag for writers and illustrators from around Scotland, with 17 pieces from young people published across two editions.
